About JAMES GORDON
At 21 J.L.Gordon was so sure he would be a writer that he put it down as “occupation” on his first adult passport. However, despite a number of false starts, he was not to write his first novel till aged 50, though over the years he wrote poems, plays and short stories at various points, not to speak of songs. Besides the music, he variously taught, ventured into politics as a local councillor, campaigned with CND, worked for racial equality in the voluntary sector, and on community safety for an East London Council. Aged 64 now, twice married, older, wiser(perhaps), he teaches as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, and also tutors for the Workers Educational Association. Wife Anne is a practitioner of natural medicine; two out of three sons are rock musicians, the third an aspiring captain of leisure cruisers on the River Thames.
